The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority has released a new story map, in which small, oak‑dotted hill in North Coyote Valley becomes a lens into the region’s deeper past, revealing how this landscape has been shaped again and again by the people who lived, worked and imagined futures here. This storymap follows the hill through its many identities, from a place of long-standing Indigenous stewardship to a landmark within shifting ranch boundaries, to a witness of agricultural booms and the ambitions of families and industries that left their imprint on the valley. In tracing the names it carried and the changes around it, this hill offers insight into the layered history of Coyote Valley itself.
