Late Morning in Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve
January 22 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Located between San Jose and Morgan Hill, this park of rolling hills, oak savanna, serpentine rock outcroppings, and native grasslands is a great place to spot raptors. We’ll start by birding the parking lot and small meadow before hiking a short portion of the Arrowhead Loop Trail. Raptors such as American Kestrels, Northern Harriers, and Red-tailed Hawks are expected. Ferruginous Hawks and Golden Eagles are possible. We’ll also be on the lookout for Loggerhead Shrikes, Rock Wrens, and Say’s Phoebes.
